History of recycling glass

The first bottle banks were set up in 1977 but we still only manage to recycle 30% of the glass bottles and jars used in this country.

This means that 70% or nearly three-quarters of all our glass ends up buried in holes in the ground! Happily, there is something that we can do about this…
